Important Update for Elgin Baseball & Softball Families
We understand there has been some confusion created online, and we want to provide clear, accurate information for our families.
EBSA (Elgin Baseball & Softball Association) is now the official youth baseball and softball league serving Elgin under PONY Baseball & Softball.
There is not both an active Elgin Little League and a separate PONY league operating in our community.
EBSA is the sole organized league currently functioning on the Elgin fields located at 506 E 10th Street, Elgin, TX.
The transition to PONY was made to expand playing opportunities for our athletes. This change allows our teams to compete with surrounding communities such as Manor, Pflugerville, Taylor, Hutto, Bastrop, and more.
We also want to address a common misconception:
PONY is not travel only or competitive only.
PONY welcomes all Elgin kids, from 3-year-olds just learning the game to older players seeking both local league and tournament opportunities.
EBSA remains a community-based league focused on development, fun, sportsmanship, and growth at every skill level.
We are aware that District 30 Little League is attempting to form a new board and establish a separate Elgin Little League.
While they are welcome to create a league, any new group would need to secure their own facilities and would not operate on EBSA-managed fields.
There is currently only one league operating on Elgin fields: EBSA under PONY Baseball & Softball.
To help families navigate these updates and better understand league operations, field use, scheduling, and what to expect for the season, we have created a detailed FAQ page:
