EBSA is proud to support graduating seniors as they take the next step toward college, trade school, or other post-secondary education and training.

Eligibility

  • Must be a graduating high school senior.
  • Must live in Elgin, Texas or surrounding areas served by Elgin ISD.
  • Preference is given to applicants who participate as baseball or softball athletes.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 10 volunteer hours with EBSA during high school.
  • Must be in good standing with their school and EBSA.
  • Scholarship funds must be used for post-secondary education or training.

What You Need to Apply

  • Completed scholarship application form
  • One-page essay
  • Official or unofficial high school transcript
  • Volunteer hour verification showing at least 10 hours with EBSA
  • Optional personal references, up to three

Essay Prompt

Describe how your volunteer service with EBSA has impacted you and your community. Include what you learned through leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and service, one challenge you faced, how you plan to continue giving back, and how this scholarship will help you financially with expenses such as tuition, books, fees, equipment, transportation, or other education-related costs.

One page maximum.

Selection & Notification

  • Applicants will be evaluated based on volunteer service with EBSA, quality of the essay, academic effort and achievement, and overall completeness of the application.
  • Finalists may be contacted for clarification or a brief interview.
  • Recipients will be notified by email or phone.
